As a user with the Advanced Social Search permission, you can open an archived Instagram post to see its caption, photos or video, and any earlier versions.

Open an Instagram post

  1. Go to the Search section and click the Social tab.
  2. Click Choose Account(s) and select your profile under Instagram Profiles.
  3. Keep All Types, or select Instagram Photo, Instagram Video or Instagram Album.

Instagram content types

  1. Set the date Range and your search criteria, and click Search.

Each result shows the Instagram icon, the profile name, the post type (Photo, Video or Album) and the start of the caption.

  1. Click a result to open it on the right.

What the post view shows

At the top, the header reads INSTAGRAM PHOTO, INSTAGRAM VIDEO or INSTAGRAM ALBUM, followed by the profile name and the date and time of the post. Click the profile name to open the profile on Instagram.

Below the header, you'll see:

  • the caption. Click Show more to read all of it.
  • for a photo post, the photo. Click it to view it larger.
  • for a video post, a video player and, if available, a Transcription of the video
  • for an album, its photos in a grid, followed by its videos. If an album has more than four photos, the rest are shown as + and a number, for example +2 More.

Edited and deleted posts

When a post was edited, it's marked Edited. Click Edited to choose a version and see what changed. Older versions are listed as v1, v2 and so on, with their date and time, and the current version is marked (Latest).

When a post was deleted on Instagram, it stays in the archive and is marked DELETED. The list of versions shows when it was deleted.
