As a user with access to Search, you can read the transcription of archived audio and video files, and an English translation when the recording is in another language.

Turn on transcription and translation

Transcription and translation are turned on for your company by Jatheon. To check whether they're on:

  1. Click your initials in the top right corner and select Company Settings.
  2. On the Configuration page, open the AI Configuration tab.
  3. Under Content Processing, you'll see whether Audio & Video transcription and Audio & Video translation are on or off.

Please note that these settings can only be changed by Jatheon. To turn them on or off, contact Jatheon Support at support@jatheon.com. They also need AI features to be on.

View a transcription or translation

  1. Open an email, social media message or file that has an audio or video file, for example an MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4 or MOV.
  2. Below the player, click Transcription or Translation. Translation appears only when the recording is in a language other than English.

Transcription and Translation links below an audio file

The text opens in a window with a Transcription tab and a Translation tab.

  1. To find a word, type it in the Search... box. Matches are highlighted and the counter shows, for example, 1 of 3. Press Enter to go to the next match, or Shift+Enter for the previous one.

Translation tab with the search box

To close the window, click outside it or the × in the top right corner.

Please note that links appear only after a file has been processed. Files archived before transcription was turned on, empty files and files in other formats don't have them.

Search inside transcriptions

Transcriptions and translations are searchable like other attachment content:

  1. Go to the Search section and open Advanced Search.
  2. Select the Attachment field and enter your keywords.
  3. Click Search.

When a transcription or translation matches, you'll see an excerpt below the file, labeled TRANSCRIPTION MATCH or TRANSLATION MATCH, with the matching words highlighted.

When you export results to PDF, select Include attachment transcript to add the transcriptions to the PDF.
