Software version: cCore 4
Role: End User, Compliance Officer
Note: If you are using an earlier version of cCore, please refer to the legacy Advanced Search article .
The Advanced Search feature allows you to locate specific archived messages using multiple search criteria. If you know several details about a message, such as the sender, recipient, subject, keywords, date range, or attachment information, Advanced Search can help you quickly find the exact message among millions of archived items.
Advanced Search supports a wide variety of search fields and conditions, allowing users to create highly targeted searches.
Accessing Advanced Search
After logging into cCore, navigate to the Search section and select the Advanced Search tab.
The Advanced Search interface allows you to:
- Define a date range
- Select search fields
- Choose search conditions
- Enter search keywords
- Add additional fields
- Create multiple search blocks
- Save searches for future use
- Run searches and review results
Step 1: Select a Date Range
Use the date picker at the top of the page to specify the period you want to search.
You can choose predefined ranges such as Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 14 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, This Year, and Last Year. You can also define a custom date range by selecting specific start and end dates.
Step 2: Select a Search Field
Choose the type of information you want to search. Each field searches a specific part of archived messages.
- From
- To
- CC
- BCC
- Recipients
- Mailbox (From, Sender, To, CC, BCC, Distribution Group)
- Subject
- Body
- Message
- Attachment
- Conversation
- Message Size
- Attachment Size
- Other available archive metadata fields
For example, From searches sender addresses, To searches recipients, Subject searches message subjects, Body searches message content, and Message searches across multiple message components.
Step 3: Select a Search Condition
After selecting a field, choose a search condition. The available conditions may vary depending on the selected field.
- Contains Phrase
- Does Not Contain Phrase
- Contains All
- Contains Any
- Does Not Contain Any

- Does Not Contain Keywords from Keyword List
Contains Phrase searches for words in the exact order entered. Contains All searches for messages containing all specified words, regardless of order. Contains Any searches for messages containing at least one of the specified words.
Step 4: Enter Search Criteria
Enter the keyword, phrase, email address, domain, or value you want to search for. The search value depends on the selected field and condition.
- Sender email address
- Recipient email address
- Subject text
- Message content

- Keyword list value
Step 5: Add Additional Search Fields
To further narrow your search, click Add Field. Additional fields are combined within the same search block and can be joined using AND or OR.
Using AND
AND returns only messages that match all specified criteria. For example, if you search for From = John, To = Nikola, and Subject contains Report, only messages matching all three conditions will be returned.
Using OR
OR returns messages that match any of the specified criteria. For example, if you search for From = John, To = Nikola, or Subject contains Report, messages matching any of these conditions will be returned.
Step 6: Add Search Blocks
For more complex searches, click Add Block. Each block can contain its own set of fields and conditions. Search blocks allow users to build advanced logical queries that combine multiple groups of criteria.
Step 7: Run the Search
Once the search criteria have been configured, click Search. Matching messages are displayed in the Search Results section.
Results include message details such as sender, recipient, subject, date and time, and message size. Keywords found in the results are highlighted for easier review.
Step 8: Review Search Results
After the search completes, matching messages appear in the results list. Selecting a message displays additional information and message content in the preview pane.
From the results page, users can perform actions such as:
- Export
- Download
- Restore
- Forward
- Apply Tag
- Add to Clipboard
- Remove Tag
- Redact
