Jatheon Ergo to Cloud Migration
This article outlines the complete process of migrating from Jatheon Ergo to Jatheon Cloud, based on our standard migration workflow.
Step 0: Preparation phase
Before migration can begin, please ensure that your organization has completed the following:
• Account Registration
Register your organization’s account on Jatheon Cloud.
• Secure Access Configuration
To facilitate a secure connection during migration, temporarily allow the Jatheon Support team to access your appliance via SSH over port 443.
Open port 443 from the appliance to mail.jatheon.com (96.125.132.1).
The appliance must be able to upload exported emails to cloud.jatheon.com, so please temporarily allow outbound traffic to the Internet for this process.
To ensure full security and compliance readiness before the migration begins, please review the required documentation available on the Jatheon Trust Center .
- Compliance & Security Documentation – includes certifications (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001:2022), security & infrastructure controls, endpoint and corporate security standards, application security measures, legal and policy documents (Privacy Policy, DPA, SLA, retention/deletion policies), vulnerability reports, network diagrams, and business continuity & incident management frameworks.
Reviewing these documents helps your organization complete security due diligence and prepare required evidence before migrating from Jatheon Ergo to Jatheon Cloud.
Step 1: Jatheon Cloud Account Activation
Once registered, your organization will receive an email invitation to activate the Jatheon Cloud tenant. Complete the setup to enable access for your administrative users.
Step 2: Journaling Redirection from cCore to Jatheon Cloud
Redirect journaling from your cCore appliance to the Cloud journaling endpoint. After redirection, all new emails will be automatically archived in Jatheon Cloud.
For detailed instructions on configuring journaling from Office 365 (or similar mail systems) to Jatheon Cloud, please refer to How to Configure O365 to Journal to Jatheon Cloud .
Step 3: Jatheon Support Team Takes Over
Once journaling is redirected and the Cloud account is active, the Jatheon Support team manages the migration process end-to-end.
3.1 Appliance Access
Secure appliance access is established via SSH tunnel (port 443) with the migration server to prepare data extraction.
3.2 Storage Checkup & SSD Shipping (if required)
A storage health review is performed. If needed, SSDs may be shipped for staging or data transfer logistics as advised by Support.
3.3 Start of Data Upload
The upload of historical data from Ergo to Jatheon Cloud is initiated under Support supervision.
3.4 Data Ingestion
Ingested data is indexed and made searchable in your Jatheon Cloud tenant according to retention and access controls.
Step 4: Post-Migration Verification
- Confirm that journaling is functioning properly.
- Verify that migrated emails are searchable in Jatheon Cloud.
- Test access, tagging, and export features.
- Ensure your Retention Policies and SSO/MFA configurations are active.
