Barracuda Migration to Jatheon Cloud

This scenario applies to organizations currently using a Barracuda on-premises email archiving solution who are planning to transition their archived data to the Jatheon Cloud platform. The objective is to ensure a seamless migration of historical email records to Jatheon's secure and compliant cloud environment.

Stakeholders are users with the Administrator Role by default, but access can also be granted to other roles if they have the necessary permissions, such as Import and Manage Migrations.

Requirements: Barracuda on-prem backup files in zip format, 1 GB in size.

Exceptions: This migration process is not applicable to Barracuda Cloud-based archiving solutions. It applies only to data exported from Barracuda's on-premises infrastructure.


Step 1: Go to the Data Transfer Section

  1. Log in to the Jatheon platform.
  2. Click on the drop-down menu next to your profile initials (top right corner).
  3. Select Company Settings.
  4. From the top navigation menu, click on DATA TRANSFER.
  5. Make sure the Migrations tab is selected.
  6. Locate the Barracuda tile and click Create Task.

Step 2: Fill in Task Details

  1. Task Name: Enter a descriptive name for the migration task (e.g., BarracudaJuly2025).
  2. Credentials: Click Files to migrate dropdown and select the files you wish to migrate.

Step 3: Start the Migration

  • Once all required fields are filled, the Start Task button becomes active.
  • Click Start Task to begin the migration process.

Step 4: Monitor Task Progress

  • The task will now appear in the Migrations section task list and you will be able to stop it if needed.
