As an Account Admin, or a user with the Manage company settings permission, you can archive your organization's GroupWise email in Jatheon Cloud with journaling: GroupWise sends a copy of every inbound, outbound and internal email to your Jatheon Cloud Journaling Email address, and Jatheon Cloud archives it automatically.
Find your Journaling Email address
- In Jatheon Cloud, click your initials in the top right corner and select Company Settings.
- Open the Connectors tab.
- Click the Other Email card.
- Copy the address under Journaling Email.
Please note that the Other Email card is available only when email archiving is enabled for your organization. If you don't see it, contact Jatheon Support.
Set up journaling in GroupWise
- In GroupWise, set up journaling, or a rule on your GroupWise Internet Agent, that sends a copy of every inbound, outbound and internal email to your Journaling Email address. For the exact steps, see your GroupWise documentation.
- Send a test email from a GroupWise mailbox.
- In Jatheon Cloud, search for the test email to check that it was archived.
From then on, every email is archived as it's sent or received, with no further action from your users.
Please note that Jatheon Cloud archives each email exactly as GroupWise sends it. If GroupWise wraps emails in a journal report, recipients that appear only in the report, such as Bcc recipients, aren't added to the archived email. For general tips on journaling from other mail systems, see How to Set Up a Generic Email Connector to Journal to Jatheon Cloud Journaling Recipient.
Other options
Journaling is the recommended way to archive GroupWise email. Two other options cover special cases:
- Older email — to bring in email from before you set up journaling, export it from GroupWise to PST or EML files and upload them in the Import section. See How to Import Emails to Jatheon Cloud.
- A GroupWise mailbox — if journaling isn't possible, Jatheon Cloud can collect email from a GroupWise mailbox over IMAP or POP3 through your GroupWise Internet Agent. See How to Manage POP3/IMAP Connections for an Account.
