How to Import Emails to Jatheon Cloud

As an Account Admin, or a user with the Import files and Run ingestion permissions, you can import existing emails into Jatheon Cloud. Importing takes two steps:

  1. Upload the file — a PST file, a single EML file or a ZIP file of EML files
  2. Import the emails — ingest the uploaded file, so its emails are added to your archive

Both steps are done in the Imports section: click your initials in the top right corner, select Company Settings, open the Data Transfer tab and then the Imports tab.

Upload the file

  1. In the Imports section, click Upload Files.
  2. Choose how to upload:
    • Single File — for one PST, EML or ZIP file smaller than 500 MB. See How to Upload a Single File in the Import Section.
    • Any File — for larger files. A secure upload page on AWS opens in a new tab. Contact Jatheon Support to get your upload credentials, then drag and drop your files there. The size limit is shown on the card.

Upload Files window

  1. For Single File, choose the file on your computer, check its name in the Upload File window and click Upload File.

When the upload is done, the file appears in the Imports list with the status Uploaded. If you uploaded through AWS, reload the page if the file doesn't show up.

Import the emails

  1. Tick the uploaded file and click Ingest Selected Files, or click Ingest All Files to ingest every uploaded file.
  2. In the Ingest and Tag Emails window, choose what happens After Ingestion:
    • Don't tag — import the emails without a tag
    • Select a tag — tag all the imported emails with a personal tag. Under Tag With Personal Tag, pick an existing tag or type a new tag name.
  3. Click Continue. If you typed a new tag name, the button is Create Tag and Continue.

You'll see a confirmation message: Ingestion successfully initiated. The file's status changes to Processing, and to Completed when the ingestion is done.

Check the import report

Click a Completed, Processing or Not Imported import to open its report. It shows the file type, size, number of documents, successes, duplicates and errors, who ran the ingestion and how long it took, and the status of every document in the file.

To find an import, use the status filter or Search files... above the list. See How to Filter and Search for Files in the Import Section.
