Users can't delete individual messages from a Jatheon archive. Messages are removed only by the retention rules your organization sets, which keeps the archive complete and tamper-proof.
You decide how long messages are kept, usually based on your regulatory requirements or your corporate email retention policy. When a message reaches the end of its retention period, it's removed automatically. Messages on legal hold are never removed while the hold is in place.
In Jatheon Cloud
An Account Admin sets the Global Expunge rule, which removes every email older than your retention period, once a day. By default, it's set to keep emails indefinitely. You can also give specific emails a shorter retention period with Retention or Classification tags. Removed emails can't be restored.
In Jatheon cCore
Messages stay on the appliance until the expunge date your organization defines. The Global Expunge task removes them once that date is reached.
