No. Jatheon cCore is a turn-key solution: the appliance comes with all the hardware and software you need for email archiving.

Once the appliance arrives, our Support Team helps you with the initial setup, which normally takes about an hour. You connect the appliance to your network, configure it through the configuration interface, and point your email server's journaling to it.

If you'd rather not run physical hardware, Jatheon cCore is also available as a virtual appliance for VMware, vSphere, VirtualBox, KVM or Hyper-V, or as a private cloud deployment on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. In those cases, you provide the virtualization or cloud environment, and Jatheon provides the cCore software.

Users can search the archive from a web browser, and the optional Outlook plugin lets them search directly from Microsoft Outlook.
