As a Compliance Officer, you can add emails, social items, files and website items from your search results to a case, so everything related to it is in one place.

Add a single item to a case

  1. Go to the Search section and run a search.
  2. Click the item to open it in the reading pane.
  3. In the reading pane toolbar, click Add to Case. If it doesn't fit in the toolbar, you'll find it under More.
  4. Choose the case. Only active cases are shown, in alphabetical order, and you can use the Search for a case... box to find one by name. Cases the item already belongs to aren't shown.

Add to Case from the reading pane

You'll see a confirmation message: Email successfully added to the case. The case then shows as a tag with a folder icon on the item, in both the results list and the reading pane.

Add several items at once

  1. Tick the checkboxes next to the items you want to add.
  2. Click Add To Case in the toolbar above the results.
  3. Choose the case.

Please note that there's a limit to how many items you can add in one go — if you select more, Add To Case is disabled.

View and remove items in a case

  1. Go to the Cases section.
  2. Find the case you want and click Manage.
  3. Open the Data tab, then choose Email, Social, File or Website (only the types enabled for your account are shown).

The items are listed the same way as in Search. The latest 50 are displayed initially; you can change the number of items per page to 25, 50 or 100.

To take items out of the case, tick them and click Remove from Case. They're removed straight away and no longer carry the case tag. You'll see a confirmation message: Emails successfully removed from the case.
